New Step!

Hello! Guess what? I am super excited.

No, truly! I am! See, we have this Coalition…and we have this plan. And…well let me just give you the pitch.

The mission of the Partners in Prevention Coalition is to educate and engage our community in interpersonal violence prevention efforts to generate safety and self respect in Williamson County.

This mission is the result of many organizations’ current work and proposed goals. In order to further this mission, we are taking a new step! And we hope you will join us.

At our next meeting, on Tuesday, July 26, we will utilize the 40 Developmental Assets in an attempt to determine where our collective work is focused. These assets have become a foundation for grant proposals, outcome based work, and the structure of many schools.

As a Coalition, we’re looking to determine the following:

-What Assets are currently critical for Williamson County?
-What Assets are we currently focused on?
-Where are we working within the county?
-What populations are being reached?
-Who is doing the work?

From there, we’ll begin a conversation and eventual plan to work effectively together in our communities.

See how wonderful this is?! Williamson County is this massive entity that can sometimes feel disjointed. But it’s really not, and we all have the opportunity to unite our forces. Did you know that non profits are not rolling in the resources? Which means we can’t send out 20 people to do prevention work all over the county. Our neighbor non profits are facing the same challenges – so based on suggestions from Tim Love at TAASA, we thought we’d try a new approach to our coalition.

And this is absolutely exciting. We want to know what work YOU’RE doing in Williamson County. We want to share our work with you. And we want to build a complementary plan to support the entire county.

Big plans? yes.
Long timeline? yes.
Tons of work? yes.
Endless possibilities? YES!

So! That being said, if you are interested in being part of this coalition, please come to the meeting! And be prepared to answer and discuss the above questions.

If you are unable to attend the Partners in Prevention Coalition meeting, but are interested in working with the coalition please send me an email indicating so. You can also answer the above questions about your agency and I will bring these to the meeting.
